I strive to help them understand the legal implications associated with their choices, and provide them with the information they need to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. As part of my role as an educator, as well as a senior attorney for The Harris Law Firm, I offer a free monthly seminar at the firm to provide an overview of the divorce process in Colorado. My teaching also includes seminars for Family Tree and counseling low income clients at Mi Casa through the Colorado Lawyer s Committee. My capacity as a teacher also extends to the young associates at the firm where I act as a mentor to guide them through the complexities of Colorado family law. Aside from my years of experience as an attorney and an educator, I also have a background in social work which is helpful especially in collaborative cases and mediation. When there are children involved, I do my best to preserve the idea that divorced parents can still interact as a family unit in order to raise children. I firmly believe it is important for parents to understand the necessity of establishing civil means of communication so they can continue to work together for the benefit of their children, even if they are not married.
