We ll start first with the sand storm. Sandstorm also known as a dust storm is an atmospheric event when strong winds lift dust from one region and carry it into another. That s what happened here in Bahrain. It started on Wednesday evening, Sand storm is causing poor visibility across Bahrain roads, watch out for tree branches falling on sides of highways and wear your mask on. Drive & stay safe. The school is done with the exams for grades 4, 5 & 6. The preschoolers are having rehearsal for the spring performance; they are very excited and can t wait to stand up in front of their parents & perform. The performance will be held on Thursday, the 9th of April. Parents!! Mark your calendar & do get your camera ready; your kid is going to be a star on Thursday! Mr. Eyad Hassan Tammam, & Ms. Bushra Mandeel, both under the title of Performance Improvement Consultant, started monitoring and evaluating the school since this Sunday 29th March 2015 until Thursday 2nd April 2015; to improve the quality & the performance of our school, guiding us with the school strategic planning & supporting us in our progress of developing the school. Speed humps The School s request has been approved by MoW and the speed humps will be installed in the road outside the School during the current parking works School improvement strategies Educational consultants are in the School working with management and teachers on the School improvement strategies and focusing on improvements to teaching techniques Parent-Teacher Conference Reminder that the Second Semester Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) is next week please make sure you sign up for a time to meet your child/children s teacher(s) to discuss their progress. An online questionnaire has been sent to your for improving PTC. We are looking forward to receiving your important opinion. 7 Fun time in the Library The Magic Bookmark and G2A For the past 2 weeks during the Library period, students of Grade 2A were reading a book titled The Magic Bookmark. As a reflection activity, students were asked to use their imagination to create their own unique bookmarks. It was a fun filled and interactive activity that enabled student-student interaction as well as student-teacher interaction. Grade 2 students are excited to use their bookmarks in the coming library sessions! 7
8 Goat and the Terror Birds Meet the creators of fear-stirring TERROR BIRDS!! Students of Grade 4 were busy this week using their imagination to bring life to this imaginary bird. For the past 2 months during the Library period, students of Grade 4 were reading a book titled Goat and the Terror Birds. As an evaluation, students were asked to imagine these frightening birds and bring them to life! The best drawing goes to Group 3 : Bilal Lutge, Mahdi Toorani, Hassan Ali and Faris Ghassan.. Congratulations! 8
