11 Upgrading to SAS 9.3 Emphasis on compatibility 9.2 to 9.3 Overlapping baselines for 3rd party components means that you can change SAS software and 3rd party software at different times in some cases. Expect custom code to continue to work unless using deprecated functionality. (recompiles may be needed). Cubes are compatible 9.2 to 9.3; some scenarios require rebuilding cubes at 9.3 Infrastructure is similar 9.2. to 9.3 Folder structure similar; expanded to include administrative content Security model similar by default (locked down) Same version of clients available (4.31) Protects customer configuration in user_mods files Analytics Platform changes make middle tier more visible in the Analytics world Customers who upgraded from to 9.2 will find upgrading 9.2 to 9.3 easier 9.3 SDW is more robust more automation, more options 11
