18 NEVER NEVER NEVER Quote a rate and term, then increase the term, which raises the rate, and fail to disclose the higher rate. Quote a rate other than APR. Tell a customer that any F&I product is required or recommended for approval. Get the customer approved at an agreed upon rate, which upon approval is reduced, and fill the void with additional products. Sell a high grade service contract at one price and then issue a lower quality contract that is worth less and make up the difference with additional product or profits.

19 NEVER NEVER NEVER Forge customer s signatures or initials, regardless of how insignificant the form may be. Tell a customer that your products are included in the payment he or she has already agreed to, inferring that there is no extra cost. Tell the customer it is already on the car and they must buy it. This is abuse is common to anti-theft systems and paint protection. Play act the opening of an overnight pouch with the bank prepared contract inside. Have your customer falsify their own loan application.

20 NEVER NEVER NEVER Have your sales person embellish his or her customer credit application. That is federal bank fraud. Ever tell a customer it s required for any reason. Disclose personal business or credit history information to other employees. Mislead or misrepresent any lender concerning the MSRP of a new car. Tell a lender that the used vehicle proposed for financing has less mileage than it actually does. Tell a lender that the used vehicle proposed for financing has more equipment than it actually does.

21 NEVER NEVER NEVER Submit a credit application that you know contains either false or misleading information which might induce a lender to grant credit which otherwise may not qualify. Submit a deal to lender that has a false down payment. Knowingly participate in transmitting loan documents on a straw purchase. Deliver a vehicle to a customer that does not have car insurance. Sell a Service Contract on a vehicle with problems and tell the customer to wait a few days before filing a claim.

22 Every transaction must be transparent and above board. Practices that have been routine for years may now be legally questionable. DOING IT THE RIGHT WAY Is the only Way
