Giving nature a hand. ZERAMEX, our excellent implant system is fully orientated towards nature. We take nature as a model. 1 Near-nature and satisfying the highest demands ZERAMEX, the 2-part implant system made form ceramic zirconium oxide was modelled after the natural paradigm. By using zirconium oxide, we use a material that has significant advantages over conventional material. It is obtained as a mineral from nature; it is metal-free and causes no reactions or interactions with bones and other dental materials. It is distinguished by its high tolerability with human tissue, is fracture-resistant and resilient. A further great advantage is the colour. A natural white. ZERAMEX is thus not only biocompatible but also fulfils high aesthetic demands. ZERAMEX is a sophisticated 2-part system. Handling and fitting is simple and timesaving. The system is flexible and variable in application. Due to the fact that the implant and the prosthetic set-up is adhered and not screwed in, ZERAMEX does not let in bacteria and is superior to screwed systems by far. ZERAMEX is a trend-setting sophisticated system, which fulfils growing demands on tolerability, biocompatibility and aesthetics in all respects.

2 ZERAMEX entirely made of high-tech ceramic. Natural, tolerable, fractureresistant, white. The intelligent 2-part implant system made from zirconium oxide. Zirconium oxide the natural material for modern dental prostheses Zirconium is one of the oldest and most frequently found minerals in the earth s crust. The high-performance material zirconium oxide is obtained from it. Of all dental-ceramic materials available today, zirconium is the ideal material for modern dental prostheses thanks to its excellent biological and technical properties. Zirconium oxide has revolutionised dentistry and dental technology. With ZERAMEX we provide you with a high quality, full ceramic and thus metal-free prostheses system made from zirconium oxide. 4 4 One concept, many possibilities. Tried, tested, certified. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. ZERAMEX quality controlled, internationally certified ZERAMEX is a 2-part dental implant system made from the trend-setting ceramic material zirconium oxide. The system has excellent biological and superior technological properties. It is distinguished by a stable, cylindrical connection between the implant and the prosthetic set-up that does not let bacteria enter the body. There is no danger of micromovements. Zirconium oxide is also hardly susceptible to plaque. In combination with the ceramic abutment, the result is an almost perfect integration of tissues as is the case of natural teeth. The standardized abutments made from zirconium oxide are versatile or can be individualized where necessary. They offer the highest level of flexibility in application. ZERAMEX has been tried and tested by some of the world s leading specialists and has proved itself to be excellent in practice. The application of the material zirconium oxide in dentistry has been scientifically documented in a comprehensive way. In order to guarantee the highest level of safety for our customers, we and our partners are certified according to the iso 13485:2007 qa system. Our medical devices are approved according to the EU regulation ewg 93/42 (ce). The international patent on ZERAMEX is pending. Dentalpoint is a partner of the Swiss Implant Foundation. Its objective is to inform the public about the possibilities of and limitations to implant therapy in a scientifically sound and comprehensible manner. The following professional associations participate in the foundation: Swiss Association for Oral Implantology (sgi) Swiss Association for Oral Surgery and Stomatology (ssos) Swiss Association for Parodontology (ssp) Swiss Association for Reconstructive Dentistry (ssrd) The foundation is supported by the Swiss Association of Dentists (sso), the Swiss Patient Organisation (spo) and the Dental University Centres Basel, Bern and Geneva. Tests and clinical long-term studies are being run at the University of Zurich and the University of Geneva.

6 ZERAMEX an advantage for you. The technologically superior and versatile implant system. ZERAMEX enables optimal bone integration The high demands on cosmetics and optimal osseointegration as well as the requirements to avoid peri-implantitis are perfectly united in the ZERAMEX concept. the two parts. Such fluid, which is caused by micro-movements, as in the case of a thread, can escape under load and attack and destroy the bone tissue surrounding the artificial tooth root. The ZERAMEX ceramic implant made from zirconium oxide absorbs calcium in an unstressed, direct contact to the bone tissue. The macro-structured surface of the implant thread with zirconium grains ensures this exchange with the bone tissue supplied with blood on as large a surface as possible and leads to the implant healing and stabilizing within as short a period. The tissue cells in the bone and gingiva develop a healthy growth when in contact with zirconium oxide and regenerate very fast after the operation. The abutment is fitted on the implant by means of adhesion. This causes a firm and flush fit between the cylindrical part of the abutment and the corresponding opening in the implant. A drainage channel safeguards the drainage of excess adhesive from the opening of the implant. Due to the permanent and hermetically flush adhesion of the implant and abutment, no fluid contaminated with bacteria can be formed in the cavity between ZERAMEX can be used for all types of prostheses with crown, bridges or with other prostheses. The great advantage of ZERAMEX : The bio- and immuno-compatibility of the implant material Aesthetically and cosmetically excellent workmanship Hermetically closed connection between implant and abutment No micro-movements Less plaque Significantly less peri-implantitis No harmful metals or heavy metals Excellent mucous tolerability No interactions with other dental materials that are already in the mouth Compatible with all other modern preparatory and operation techniques Simple and thus flexible system that can be ground

Due to the rated break point and the precise three-edged part for the load transmission, the pick-up should only be used once. If the final torque is lower than 35 Ncm, this will cause a negative effect on the primary stability. If the final torque of 45 Ncm is exceeded, the implant will be unscrewed using the rescue pick-up and the hole made deeper or the screw re-cut. 1) The implant is inserted with the help of the pick-ups (Art. No or 30140) and an insertion tool (handpiece or hand ratchet). The optimal insertion torque lies between 35 and 45 Ncm. 50 Ncm must not be exceeded (rated break point of the pick-up) 2) The inserted implant is cleaned and dried IMPORTANT The rescue pickup must not be used for inserting the implant. 3) Open healing The implant is covered by the 1mm gingival former, Art. 27 5. Surgical Phase Inserting Regular Plus Inserting ZERAMEX Regular Plus, 14mm REGULAR PLUS IMPORTANT The pick-up has a rated break point which will break if 50 Ncm are exceeded. The flaps are closed with single head stitches. 19 V ) Closed healing A tension-free wound cover enables the healing with the healing cap, 1mm, (Art. No )

5. Surgical Phase Healing The healing phase The healing phase for ZERAMEX implants is 2 3 months depending on the primary stability, in some cases even longer. The primary stability is decisive for the healing period. In some exceptional cases, they can bear weight immediately. A longer period of healing is also possible. Individual factors of the anatomic situation, the weight the screws bear, the patient risk profile (smokers!) play the decisive role and the implantologist should take these into consideration. 20 V 01.10

6. Prosthetic Treatment Dental Imprint The ZERAMEX implant system is based on the natural tooth. User experience results in some optimizations to obtain excellent, precise imprints as the basis of aesthetic treatment. 1) Direct imprint with the ground original abutment at the most, like with a natural tooth 2) Indirect imprint with impression collar (Art. No ) and adhered abutment 3) Indirect imprint with the impression collar (Art. No ) by using the enclosed locating pin 4) Indirect imprint with the impression abutment titan (Art. No ) 21 V 01.10

6. Prosthetic Treatment Abutments Abutments Panavia F 2.0 TC (Art ) Our abutments should only be cemented with Panavia F 2.0. Panavia is the only cement that was tested and which has longterm experience. We recommend that a max. of 2 abutments are cemented at the same time. If the cement has already started to harden, it can no longer be pressed out and the result could be wrong cementing. If the abutments are cemented before taking an imprint and ground at the most, then the further procedure is the same as with natural teeth. If the abutments are not cemented until the integration into the prosthetic treatment, they must be transferred for the bite test. Prosthetic treatment is either permanent or provisional according to the same principle as natural teeth. 22 V 01.10

6. Prosthetic Treatment Cementing 1) Applying the dual-hardening adhesive (Panavia, Art ) to the abutment cylinder with the brush contained in the Panavia and the six-edged part 2) Inserting the abutment with the applicator (Art. No ) or by hand 3) Adhesive process: The abutment is held down in the right position with the help of the applicator and briefly hardened with blue light Let it become hard under pressure for 2 minutes Remove excess cement with the thread or a fine scaler 23 V 01.10
