The Cable Monopoly The cable industry has never really had direct competition from another cable company. Because of this they have been able to get away with poor quality products, unfair billing practices, and notoriously bad customer service. In fact, Comcast has been dubbed the "Worst Company in America" in a nationwide poll by Consumerist (and not for the first time).
