Accounting, banking management, administration and financial planning theory, as well as the practice of applying concepts in the real world through the use of today s current, industryleading software applications. Curriculum that is current and has been developed in association with the major banks, financial planning firms, the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, and the Financial Planners Standards Council. George Brown College has been granted consent by the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities to offer this applied degree for a fiveyear term starting December An application for renewal of the consent has been submitted and the current consent remains in effect until a decision on the renewal application is made. George Brown College shall ensure that all students admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Business Financial Services program during the period of consent will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame. FIELD STUDY OPTIONS WORK EXPERIENCE (CO-OP WORK TERM) The George Brown Bachelor of Applied Business Financial Services program includes one full semester (14 consecutive weeks) of work. This usually occurs between your sixth and seventh semesters and must be completed before seventh semester. This work experience provides you with the practical experience employers value. 2 PROGRAM STANDARDS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES A degree program must meet a substantial and common set of learning outcomes that are critical to programs within a degree level educational environment. These include: Four Degree Standards, and the knowledge and skills expectations under each of these, as published by the Postsecondary Education Quality Assessment Board. Learning outcomes in the core subjects/courses which provide exposure to increasingly complex theory at the degree level, and which enable graduates to meet or exceed the requirements of the field of study and/or practice, relevant professional or accrediting bodies, and which are consistent with similar programs in Ontario and other jurisdictions.
